Me and My Commitment to Creativity

While my business, Politzki Services, is relatively new to the Asheville area (since 2024), my background in construction is extensive. For over two decades, I worked in class-A commercial office remodel construction, progressing from laborer to superintendent, project manager, estimator, and eventually co-owning a successful tenant finish business for four years. Alongside this, I remodeled numerous houses with my father, and I've always found hands-on work the most rewarding.

In 2010, I met my partner, Anne, on a theater renovation project. We started our family in Denver, and then, in 2019, we hit the road, traveling in a converted schoolbus across the United States. This journey eventually led us to Weaverville, NC. Our move to North Carolina was driven by a desire to focus on the work itself, ensuring quality control and a better work-life balance. While the years of construction have brought a few more aches and pains, my dedication to quality and attention to detail remain unwavering. Every project I undertake receives the same care and commitment I would give to my own home.

  • I live in Weaverville and I love it when I can work close to home, but I work all over the greater Asheville area.

  • For most projects I provide a detailed estimate, with a clear scope of work so you know what’s included, any assumptions I’ve made, and anything you’re responsible for - everything clear and upfront. For small repairs, my hourly rate is $70, and I have a 2 hour minimun charge.

  • I am registered with Buncombe County, so I can obtain building permits, and I have general lability insurance in the amount of 1M. This means I am able to complete projects valued at up to $40K. I am not a licensed General Contractor, and am not currently taking on projects valued above $40K.

  • I was a General Contractor for many years, and enjoyed that life. A few years ago I decided to make a new start and focus on smaller projects so I am now a sole proprietor and do most of the work myself. I have a few folks I reach out to when I need another pair of hands, but I’m focused on self performing work so I can ensure the highest level of quality and attention to detail.

    If a project requires other tradespeople, I am happy to coordinate them and make the process smooth for all involved.
